Meet Kinley Dorji, Registered Physiotherapist
Growing up in Bhutan, Kinley helped care for his aunt as she recovered from multiple mobility challenges. He accompanied her to her therapy appointments, assisted with her exercises, and watched her rebuild strength—experiences that shaped his view of what healthcare could look like when it’s grounded in compassion, patience, and results.
Global Training With a Practical, Functional Focus
Kinley earned his physiotherapy degree in India in 2010, then spent years working across Bhutan’s hospital system, athletic organizations, and public health programs. His experience ranged from treating elite athletes through the Bhutan Olympic Committee to conducting developmental screenings for children and supporting Red Cross outreach efforts.
No matter the setting, his goal remained the same: to help people function better and feel more at ease in their bodies.
I think the most satisfactory thing is when you see someone who had to stop doing certain things because of pain, impairment, or disability—and after working with them, they’re smiling again, doing what they love, trying new things without pain, and then being active and healthy. That’s the biggest joy you can get.”
Canadian Education and Special Acupuncture Training
After relocating to Hamilton, Kinley completed a postgraduate program at McMaster University, where he conducted research on neck pain and whiplash and received training in neurofunctional acupuncture. This modern approach to acupuncture is rooted in nervous system science rather than traditional meridian models, allowing him to integrate it seamlessly into physiotherapy sessions for more precise care.
Approachable, Respectful, and Transparent
Kinley believes in listening first and making decisions thoughtfully. His clients are never pressured into care plans. Instead, he shares what he finds, explains your options clearly, and works with you to determine what’s most realistic and beneficial for your needs. He values his patients’ right to choose and sees education as a vital part of the healing process.
Outside the Clinic Interests
When he’s not working, Kinley enjoys spending time outdoors with his three sons, fishing, camping, or practicing archery.
